Before you install

Requirements and permissions.

The Mac editions ask for each permission when it's first needed, and explain why.

  • macOS 15 Sequoia or later, Apple silicon or Intel
  • Optional: an MCP-capable agent such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor

Screen Recording

Required

Lets DemoTake capture the window or app you choose. macOS shows the recording indicator while capture is active.

Microphone

Optional

Only if you want to record narration. Off by default.

Accessibility

DemoTake Agent only

Lets your agent press buttons and fill fields in your app. Not needed for recording or editing, and never requested by DemoTake Studio.

Keep the window you're recording visible or moved aside, not minimized. macOS pauses capture of minimized windows until they're restored. DemoTake Web records in the cloud, so it needs none of these permissions.
